Here are a few simple strategies to relieve stress.
1. Music. With today’s technologies, it is possible to keep your favorite songs in your pocket. When you start to become overwhelmed with stress, start listening to one of your favorite songs.
2. Take a bath or shower. Some find that switching between hot and cold showers is helpful in reducing pressure. Others prefer a warm bath to calm their muscles and offer a break from everyday tensions.
3. Laughter is the best medicine. Find a funny story on the web, watch a Youtube video, or relive an event that caused your sides to hurt with laughter. This is a great way to relax as well as an excellent calorie burner!
4. Try decaff. Caffeine is a stimulant and promotes increased mental stimulation and a rapid heartbeat. To help avoid feelings of anxiety and stress, switch to a decaffeinated drink.
5. Take a walk. Get outside and enjoy the scenery, whether it be the sounds of the city or the nurturing atmosphere in nature, a walk is a good way of letting your mind wander from the tension of your daily tasks.
